Dear Philip ,
as you surely do know I´ve read a lot of your excellent reports in re. of the British Embassy in Vientiane/Laos & posted some comments. So pls. allow me the following question : is this special ” Monthly Snapshot” blog meanwhile closed ? It would be to me a sad matter.
Best wishes & take care
Chers saluts et liebe Grüßle an Dich,
Ingo-Steven , Stuttgart
Dear Philip ,
wll it ´s becoming for me (the older I get) unincredible of how quick a year is passing by. And so it ´s almost unimpossible to pick up the – to me – most important activities of the British Embassy in Vientiane . So yr. “Highlight” – list was a big help for me. Amongst the 6 topics are most notable for me : #1 : the “Be safe online” campaign. Doesn ´t matter so much if 30.000 children or 3.000 were reached. For every single child is precious. #2 : the UK-Lao Political Consultations and the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) agreement. # 3 : the reopening of the Lao Embassy – set for this year. I ´m quite sure that this fact will have a positive effect for the bilateral friend – and partnership relations between Great Britain and Laos itself.
Most remarkable for April 2014 was surely the introduction of this National Consultation Workshop to provide the British language. It can ´t be underestimated of how important it is to teach young pupils in English. It ´s maybe one of the ground pillars in re . of a solid proper education. To conclude : it must be very interesting if Lady Laura Mingers of the FCO ´s ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) Department visited yr. team and yourself at the Embassy in Vientiane. Ever kind of info-exchange is finally and in my opinion important and necessary to the benefits of both sides.
Best wishes, take care and have a good working week start,
