Rebecca Ferguson brings GREAT British music to America

This past week I had the pleasure of listening to Rebecca Ferguson, X Factor UK runner up and the latest British music export to the US, as she sang live on Fresh FM in the Washington DC area.

Not only does she have the most amazing soulful and powerful voice for one so tiny, she is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, down to earth, charming and instantly likeable. She definitely has something different about her, cares more deeply about her family than fame and will surely follow in the  footsteps of Adele, Amy Winehouse and Leona Lewis in showing the US all that is GREAT about British music.

In speaking with Rebecca I also learned she enjoyed watching Mo Farah and ‘Our Jess’ win in the London 2012 Olympics and is also a gymnastics fan. Delighted to be in the US, she has completed her whirlwind tour Stateside and is off back to the UK to watch the new series of X Factor and reminds all those competing to stay focused, enjoy it and not get distracted.

I think I just met the next big thing in British music, and she was awesome.

  1. Rebecca is a brilliant artist, and the sweetest human being I’ve ever seen in this industry. Your description of her is perfect, down to the wire. Rebecca could definitely follow in Adele’s footsteps, but I believe she’s a more dynamic artist. Her album is filled with so many soulful, beautiful, and charming tracks. This feature was wonderful!

  2. Too right!! Her debut album was brilliant and I cannot wait to see what she comes out with in the future
