Uma Patil is an Adviser with the UK Science and Innovation Network. She is based in the British Deputy High Commission, Mumbai. She focuses on global healthcare and life sciences sectors.

Previously, Uma worked at technology business incubators such as Venture Center, Pune and International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics, Hyderabad. She managed grant funding programs including Biotechnology Ignition Grant, and Technology Refinement and Marketing Programme. Uma was also responsible for innovation management, technology commercialisation and incubation programmes at these incubators.

Uma earned her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in biotechnology, intellectual property rights, and management from the University of Pune.
