"What is needed is nothing short of an energy revolution"

The International Energy Agency's World Energy Outlook 2008 published on 12 Nov is worth a look. It makes key points about how we cannot let the financial/economic crisis delay urgent actions needed to move to a low carbon economy. And that the danger for the climate of continued high carbon dependence is "shocking".

The whole world need peace and harmonious. All the governments should take effective actions to tackle with the energy crisis. However, piracy is one of the urgent tasks.Despite the fact that the U.S. Fifth Fleet is patrolling the area and NATO is also present, why is it that the world cannot control the rampant piracy near the coast of Somalia? I really cannot believe the fact.Perhaps there is no international coordination among the naval powers. We fight against pirates or yield to them??!!

You are right, peak oil is on its way and the recent shock of oil prices at $150 a barrel should be a real reminder of a need to change the way we consume energy

I am proud of the fact that Britain is leading the way in terms of creating clean energy. This isn't just my own personal opinion but that of deposed US President, Al Gore. We are all obligated to clean up this planet, more so Britain as this is the country where the Industrial Revolution began.

You were only a few miles from where 1.5 millions are dying of hunger and lack of medical supply prevented by the state you were visiting. You failed to even mention the plight of besieged Gaza during your visit to Israel who is the military occupier. As an Israeli I remind you that Israel's siege of Gaza is a prelude to genocide. I refer you to the report of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, Richard Falk.

Dear Foreign Secretary, Please advise as to what steps the British government is taking to stop the genocide in the Gaza strip being carried out so blatantly and in complete defiance of the international law by the Israeli army? If Hamas are wrong to fire rockets into Isaeli territory, the response is out of proportion and very excessive. Two wrongs do not make a RIGHT! What are the Palestinians living in Gaza supposed to do? They have been blockaded for the last 18 months and are not allowed to have any food, fuel or medical supplies. The US and Western European leaders always talk about DEMOCRACY! The question is what DEMOCRACY and for whom? The developing countries are not allowed the luxury of electing their own representatives in a general election. After all who decides whether a political party is terrorist or is USA's word the gospel?

Can't get my attention onto energy revolution I am transfixed by the scenes in Gaza. We need a dynamic and forceful intervention to stop the massacre of Palestinians. Please, please stop colluding in the story woven by the Bushs administration and Israeli government that the assualt on Gaza is driven by Hamas rocket attacks. Build new alliances with countries like Turkey who have established relations with Hamas, dare to take a different route than the traditional following of the US line.
