Trade up

In the blizzard of briefing for the G20 summit and associated bilaterals I was informed that despite the recession UK exports to Russia grew by 46 percent in 2008. Pretty extraordinary and good. Trade with Russia is beneficial to us both.

good news but is that the exception to the current situation?

Dear Mr.David, on the eve of the G20 summit preparations would be made by the world leaders in presenting their new strategies to overcome the sickened global economy. Last fortnight the Chinese Central Bank Governor came up with a valuable suggestion of new International Currency to be regulated by the IMF replacing the US Dollar. Unfortunately this worthy suggestion was rejected outright by President Obama rather than evaluating the pros and cons. It could be worth the debate in the G20 summit if this issue could come up. Regards / Venkat.

Dear David, your information 01.04.09, that the U.K. exports to Russia grew by 46 percent last year are really good news. But maybe not only to the United Kingdom and Russia. Trade relationships to a country which is a member of the BRIC-Group of States will surely also help to increase the trade relationships to Brazil, India and China. That 's why I 'm convinced that trade with the BRIC-States is "...beneficial..." to the U.K.- but also to the 4 other countries. Nevertheless : Your message right now in the current recession will help a lot of us to become more courageous ! British-People for sure- but also Anglo-Germans as me. Best wishes, Ingo-Steven Wais
