Iraq election law

It is very good news that the Iraqi Council of Representatives has agreed the basis for next January's national election.

The fact that Iraq's political leaders overcame a number of hurdles in reaching an agreement is a real sign of Iraq's democratic progress.

Iraq  held peaceful provincial and regional elections  this year  and  January's national election  will be further evidence that the Iraqi people have chosen dialogue and democracy over those who offered nothing but violence.

Dear David, the most important fact to me is that there are National Elections in Iraq already in 3 months, according to yr.first-rate report. The Iraqi people deserve the right to vote within the context of the democratic progress.Doesn't matter what kind of party they select-as long as it's a democratic one.The agreement which you've mentioned is not only in Iraq a clear sign for more democracy-it's an example for other states in this area. It's especially a strong and striking signal to Iraq's next-door neighbour -the still uncooperative, anti- democratic regime in Tehran/Iran. May they also give their people a fair chance to vote. Best wishes, Ingo-Steven Wais,Anglo-German, Stuttgart

Sir, the completion of peacefull regional elections shows the signs of political stability in IRAQ. The current leadership as well as US-EU MILITARY MISSION AGAINST TERRORISTS are responsible for the success of democratic process in the region; peoples are freely expressing their views and wishing love, peace and unity in the nation.
