Balkans

When Paddy Ashdown and Richard Holbrooke sound the alarm about the situation in the Balkans it makes sense to listen. They are right. As the Czech Foreign Minister and I said over the summer, the first task is to pay attention to Bosnia and support the High Rep. We do not support an early wind up at the OHR; we do want it to complete its job and the EU to fulfil its responsibilities.

I'm delighted to pick up the message from your post and Lord Malloch-Brown's House of Lords answer to Paddy Ashdown that the UK will support the continued existence of the OHR until its work is finished. If "Never Again" is to mean anything the UK and the international community must not abandon Bosnia until stability is restored and a fully functioning democratic state under the rule of law is in place. That means also that the work of the High Representative must not be circumscribed. Republika Srpska is still exploiting the success of the ethnic cleansing that Dayton rewarded while it continues to protect war criminals and deny genocide. Earlier this month the RS President, Rajko Kuzmanović, was ledning the authority of his office to an international "Symposium on Srebrenica" being organised by the Srebrenica Historical Project. The SHP is a genocide-denial/mitigation organisation based in Holland and headed by a member of Momcilo Krajisnik's defence team. The Symposium appears to be linked to the Karadzic defence effort. It's vital for Bosnia's future that the OHR holds RS properly to account for its failure to respect the provisions of Dayton - so no kid glove treatment. Thanks for your ongoing commitment.

The biggest genocide has been committed against Serbs - support of genocidal economic sanctions against the whole nation that only helped those in power to stay in power, support of ethnic cleansing of Serbs in Croatia more than 200.000, Kosovo & Metohia more than 200.000 and in parts of Bosnia Sarajavo used to be the biggest Serbian town in BiH, not any more, just ask how many were killed by Bosnians. Shame! And not only that, it seems that Mr Miliband will like again to break a law by interfering with Dayton's agreement. Like in Kosovo with unlawful war in 1999, like in Iraq 2003, like when the UK supported subprime independence of Kosovo. Mr Miliband is a shame for the UK and should resign as soon as possible!
