FCO bloggers the best in the world

Great to see our Zimbabwe bloggers listed in the Sunday Times top 100 blogs in the world. It's well deserved recognition for Philip and Grace (alongside Paul Daniels, Paris Hilton and Richard Madeley among others)  who've been telling stories that only they could tell from our embassy in Harare for the last year.

Congratulations for your recognition. A great blog which sheds light on a country where we need more attention, not less. Blogs run by government - and more so its foreign ministry - are problematic. It is great that government blogs exist, but still they go against the grain of their core asset - freedom of expression, as they need to tread the tightrope of giving insight while not offending anyone. Is there any way such tools can go beyond being merely part of gesture politics?
