About Frances
British Ambassador to Lebanon since October 2006. Previous jobs include Ambassador to Yemen (2001 -2004) and Head of Engaging with the Islamic World Group (2004 -2006).
Frances has also been a diplomat in Ethiopia, Sudan, Thailand and France. Before joining the diplomatic service she worked in the British Council in Damascus. Frances is married with three children. She enjoys running, swimming, playing tennis and reading.
