Aiming Higher: lessons from Tour de France Success

On May 6th we are organising an event here in the Embassy on the theme of applying innovation and excellence to raise achievement. We’re calling it ‘Aiming Higher’ and our star guest will be Sir Dave Brailsford

Transcript (continued)

[Sir Dave Brailsford] was the Performance Director for the British Olympics cycling team, and won 8 gold medals with that team in 2008 in Beijing and achieved the same performance again in the London Olympics. He has also of course been the Team Sky motivator, and has enormously improved performances in that team – so much so that Bradley Wiggins won the Tour de France in 2012 and Chris Froome in 2013.

So Sir Dave is coming to talk about how you can apply excellence in a way that can improve your performance in whatever field you’re working in. We’re going to be live streaming this event online, and there is chance for you to put any question you like to Sir Dave on twitter, using the hashtag #BE200.

This event is part of a whole sequence of things we’re doing in this wonderful old residence to celebrate 200 years of it being British – having been bought by the Duke of Wellington in 1814 – and to show that it just as relevant today, to the new cutting edge ideas and themes that are working between the two countries. So you’re very welcome to participate and please, let us have your questions.
