My pick of Govt. priorities in 2013

Shortly after the Romanian Government presented its programme I tweeted on @HMAMartinHarris my pick of the top five priorities to be taken forward in 2013. In five tweets:

1. Implementing the IMF agreement. RO has done well on fiscal consolidation. Now it’s time to progress on structural reforms and tax evasion.

2. Judicial reform. Implementing the 4 codes will transform the business environment and make justice predictable and accessible for everyone.

3. Digital agenda. Bringing govt services online and putting court verdicts on the internet will make public services efficient and accountable.

4. Absorbing EU funds is vital for economic growth, eg the ELI project would put Romania at the forefront of European research and innovation.

5. Cultural Heritage Code. Romania’s culture is Europe’s heritage. It must be preserved before it’s too late.

  1. Freedom Smile is an NGO based in Bucharest in Romania ( http://www.freedosmile.org) .
We have as an objective the fight against discrimination and protection of human rightsin the EU including the rights of free travel, learn and work.
We noticed from the following article published in the UK Independent magazine
    http://www.independent.co.uk/student/why-is-the-uk-biased-against-students-from-romania-and-bulgaria-8435644.html?origin=internalSearch

that the Romanian students in the UK are discriminated in at least 3 aspects:they are the only EU students who needs special permits (yellow cards in order to work at least part time in the UK, UKBA refuse or postpon to issue those cards and the UK guvernement impose to ROmanian and Bulgarian students to have special private health insurances on top of the common EU health inssurances accepted anywhere.
Can yo please investigate and give us the answer in timely manner,

    Many thanks,
    Cristi Corobana
